One of the oldest cities in Europe
Sitting between a fertile valley and a deep, protected bay, Stari Grad (literally ‘old city’) has been home to human settlement since at least the 4th Century BCE, when it was formally incorporated as the city Pharos by Greeks from the island city-state of Paros.
A few suggested spots:
Lampedusa for cocktails
Lukrezia for clothing
Za Pod Zub for gourmet groceries
Stari Grad Museum for local history
Lunch: Kod Barbe Luke for fresh fish; Alfonso’s for neapolitan pizza; Il Giardino for authentic southern Italian (Barese); Kojo for sandwiches and cakes
The best way to experience Stari Grad is just to wander through the back streets and get a little lost in its millennia of charm!
